Currently Reading: Gone Girl

I'll admit, the reason I picked up this book to begin with is Ben Affleck.
AKA The Only Man In Hollywood That Matters.
AKA My Future Husband.
(Fingers crossed.)

Honestly. How can you not love that man? I mean, look at that face. Good God. He's perfect. But I'm done now.

But back to what I was saying: I only read this book because of my main man Ben. (If you've been living under a rock, they made a movie based on the book, he's in it.) And everyone kept raving about how great it was. And I wouldn't want to deprive myself of that. Andddddd it gave me a reason to go see another Ben Affleck movie. Just sayin'.

But back to the book...

I hopped on the bandwagon and read Gone Girl. And I loved it. Until the end. Which made me so, so angry. I hate nothing more than getting to the end of a really great, totally riveting book like this one and it just sucks.

I guess maybe that's what the author was looking to do: make people angry. But I don't deal well with that. I don't like when books don't end like I think they should. And this totally missed the mark. But the rest of the book: perfection.

So I would definitely suggest reading it. Just don't get your hopes up for the ending you are hoping for. I normally give a quick summary of the book, but the way this book is written, I would probably give something away and ruin it for you. So I won't do that.

The best I got: wife goes missing. There ya go.

Now go grab that book. I also need someone to see the movie with me. ASAP. Because Ben. Duh.

Have you read this book? What did you think? Have you also seen the movie? I need to know if it's as good as the book. Help!

  1. I have been wanting to read this for awhile, hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I loved Gone Girl! Even with the ending, I still really loved the rest of it, and the huge plot twist!

  3. I read the book and can't wait until the movie comes to Redbox to finally see it! Although let's be honest, the movie never lives up to the book!

  4. I read the book but haven't seen the movie yet. I'm thinking I'll just wait til it comes out on AppleTV.
