Finding the Path

Today's scheduled #BEDM post is actually perfect for me and where my head has been at lately. It's about passion projects or essentially things you are passionate about that you would ideally like to profit from.

We all have our little hobbies or maybe even something we are extremely dedicated to that is essentially just for fun. For me, that was event planning. I've been doing some sort of event planning for as long as I can remember, and for me it was always just something on the side. It was never anything I really wanted to pursue as a career. It was honestly "Plan K."

But, a few things happened. A few things fell apart. And it all became pretty clear to me that the path I was pursuing wasn't where I should be headed.

After spending this semester interning (which I still need to write a wrap-up post about... whoops) it finally dawned on me that I really should consider following that path. I'm good at other things, I'm even great at some other things. But those other things don't push me and challenge me and entertain me as much as event planning does.

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that it's all about sports over here. So obviously I'll be doing sport event planning in some sense. I think I want to go into the tennis/golf tournament management side of things, so that's step one of the life plan process!

It's funny for me to look back on the fact that what I considered my "side projects" for four years is suddenly my new life path. Good thing I'm sticking around in Athens a little longer, because I'd hate to be making this life change as I'm graduating.

What is your passion project?

  1. I have loved reading people's passion posts & I especially like your one, as I currently work in events and it is lovely seeing other people are also interested in working within this industry!

I'm excited to see more about this! Good Luck x
