Athens, I Love You

Apparently May is "Local History Month" and today's #BEDM post is all dedicated to the wonderful city that is Athens, GA. Forget the history part of this, I'm just going Throwback Thursday on it and re-hashing my favorite memories of my four years here. Because let's be honest, that's a lot more fun than a history lesson!

Freshman Year
It's crazy for me to look back to these days. I absolutely loved my time in good ole Russell Hall and would honestly go back and spend another year there with those same ladies.

Probably the most random picture in this post, but that apartment (and these people) were my life for 6 months. Glory days.

Oh my, how we've grown up...

Tailgate freshman year. Once again, how things have changed...

My good 'ole cousin. He's all official and graduated from Bama last weekend!

Oh, boy. This night. And this house. Wiped out on the ice... Definitely my best moment.

The lovely ladies of 4North!! Take me back!

No, this isn't Athens. But it's Athens-ish. And will go down as one of the craziest weekends of my college career.

Freshman year snow storm! A whole week snowed-in the dorms. Take me back.

The first-ever Paint the Town Red. Best. Committee. Ever.

Sophomore Year
Not my best. You could say I was stuck in-between but it definitely was a life-changing year.

Ran my first half marathon!! Wahoo!

Corey Smith at the Georgia Theatre! First show I ever saw there.

Once again, the greatest committee ever. Best Olympics yet.

4 North reunion. My favorites.

Junior Year
Ah. Junior Year. You were fun. And when I met some of the people I will be friends with for the rest of my life. The year of the Broadcast Fam!

The greatest mock show class of all time. The start of the greatest group of people I've been so blessed to spend two years with.

Jason Aldean in Sanford. One of my top 5 memories in Athens.

UGA vs. Southern game. All of my favorite people in town for one of the most memorable tailgates ever!

One last homage to the most amazing family of people I could ask for.

Senior Year
I can honestly say that this year has been the most rewarding, amazing, and fun year of my time at UGA. As I head into my 5th year in the greatest university on the planet, I'm sad to let some of my closest friends go, but I'm so excited about where they are headed in life!

The last tailgate. I'll miss these two lovely ladies next year!

LSU tailgate. Hands down the greatest of them all.

My last PTTR... And raising the most money in the spring EVER. Love these people.

Spring break in Key West. I can't express how much I wish I was back on that boat.
And I end with one of the greatest nights I've had in Athens, ever. Cinco de Mayo with the best of the  Fam. Let's do it again. Now.

And now I'm going to go cry in a corner because all of these people are leaving me.

Hope y'all enjoyed the throwback today! It's always fun for me to look back on these crazy four years.

xoxo, jgp
