Currently Swooning: Barbour Jackets

It's pretty much common knowledge that the entire country is absolutely frozen right now. Athens is no exception. As I write this, it's 15 degrees outside. This is not okay for walking around campus.

And this girl left her North Face back at home. So there's that. So this morning I threw on a T-shirt, a flannel, and a sweatshirt. Still frozen.

So I had a quick break between classes and ran to Onward Reserve downtown and finally broke down and bought a Barbour jacket. I've only been swooning over them for two years now. It's about time I finally pulled the trigger… This freezing weather was just the perfect opportunity to do it.

I looked at the men's and women's jackets, and decided to go with the Men's Beaufort because it's longer and my torso goes on for days.

Before I tried them all on, I was set on a Bedale one, but for people with a long torso like mine, I needed the Beaufort to get the fit I was looking for. I wanted something long, roomy, and warm. Which was exactly what I got.

The women's ones fit a little bit more snug and also a good bit shorter than the men's. The one thing I really liked about the women's, though, was that it actually had room for hips. Not so much in the men's. But, it is what it is.

They all come in different colors too. And maybe someday, I would like to have a navy women's fit one. Mainly because it would be something that could be dressed up a bit more than the way the men's fit does. Like what College Prep does here

Do you have a Barbour jacket? How much do you love it?

  1. I just got the Beadnell jacket shortly after Thanksgiving. To put it lightly, I've worn it almost every day since I've received it! It's perfect to wear with perfectly every outfit, and I love that in the future I can invest in the zip in liner to make it even warmer (which is a total necessity for me because I live in Pennsylvania!)

    1. Just saw that we totally had twin posts today! I am already planning my outfit for tomorrow to be able to wear it. I didn't spend that much money to not wear it every day!
