Bowl Season Struggles

Well. My Dawgs lost on New Year's Day. So that sucked. And Bama lost last night to Oklahoma, which sucked less, and was semi-entertaining to watch. (I was cheering for Bama, but ya know, sometimes you gotta lose.)

The Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl are both tonight. I guess I should get somewhat excited about that. Primarily because I hate Ohio State and like the feel-good story of Mizzou this season.

And the National Championship game on Monday night. And I'll be chopping my little heart out in Athens. Bye Auburn, bye

But this year I really haven't found much enjoyment in bowl season. I think it's because this time of year I'm just over football season. Which is not okay. Maybe it's the holidays interfering with normal football traditions or because the games happen every day for like 3 weeks. It just doesn't do much for me.

Or. I guess a Bama fan would probably just tell me that I don't like bowl season because the Dawgs aren't in the National Championship game (I'm not making this up, I've heard it before.) Then I would nicely remind them that they aren't either.

So, here's to hoping tonight's games and Monday night's game are as exciting as the Sugar Bowl last night. And that one of the teams has a very attractive, well-spoken, humble MVP for the game… *cough, Trevor Knight, cough*

Also. Random fact. I used to cheer with this kid's twin brother's current girlfriend. Small world, right?

Anyways! I'm linking up with Venus Trapped in Mars for Fan Friday today, so join the fun too!

How do you feel about bowl season?
