OMAHA!

The Super Bowl is Sunday. Le duh. So I'm telling you the three things I'm thrilled about this weekend. Because five is too many, but there is more than one.


ONE | OMAHA!
No, not Nebraska. I'm talking Peyton Manning's Omaha. 

It's Omaha's time to shine this weekend. And I'm pumped about it.

I'm going with 47 on my over-under on number of times he says Omaha in the game on Sunday.

I need this shirt. 

TWO | THE DAWGS
For the first time since, like, ever I have have a dawg in the fight for the Super Bowl... Literally a Georgia Bulldawg. Or two.


Knowshon Moreno and Champ Bailey. Two of my all time favorites are taking the field Sunday and you could say I'm a little excited. 

Chances Knowshon has a moment like this again? 80%. It is the Super Bowl after all.


THREE | BRUNOOOOO
I love Bruno Mars. He's ridiculously talented. And a little nugget. And I just love him. When they announced he was the half time performer, I almost died from excitement. 


I'm expecting an absolutely amazing show from him on Sunday. 

So I'm basically going to be glued to the TV for a solid 5 hours. Because you can't walk away during commercials or the game or half time. 

I'm going to start preparing my bladder for the 5 hours of drinking without a bathroom break.

Currently Swooning: Tuckernuck Early Spring

Unlike everyone else on the planet, I'm loving this cold winter. Yet another sign that I'm meant to live somewhere further north. So I'm currently obsessed with my big chunk sweaters and scarves, and my new Barbour jacket. It's all so wonderful. 

But the spring collections are arriving and I'm excited to bust out some cute flowy tops in a couple months. As usual, my go-to is Tuckernuck. And so far, I'm loving what they are carrying for spring.

This would make a perfect spring break beach bag. It comes in other colors too!
Belize Earrings- $68
In all honesty, I'll buy just about anything with turquoise in it. Need these.

Quatrefoil Canvas Clutch- $58
This is a precious little nugget. I don't own any clutches. This may be my first. 

Rickracken Tunis- $210
I love dresses like this. I'm just scared I wouldn't be able to pull it off. We shall see.

Cleopatra Dress- $268
This dress is actually perfect. I would have no reason to wear it. But could definitely make one.

Crystal Clear Top- $58
I'm pretty sure I would wear this shirt every single day if I could. And it's pretty cheap. Count me in!

I'm pumped for the rest of the spring and summer clothes to come in. I just have this feeling that I'm going to love the collections coming this spring.

Final 24-Day Challenge Update!

I'm done, I'm done, I'm done!!

It's officially Day 25 and it's finally over!

And the first thing I did... Coffee. Obviously. 
Enjoying that as I write this post... Heaven. 

I can honestly say that I kinda sorta quit about a week ago. I got sick of taking a million pills at all times during the day. Or I would just forget about them. I did keep eating right though, other than a small breakdown on Saturday that included Mexican and pizza. Moving on.

I have learned a lot from the dieting part, honestly. I realized that I really did eat terribly last semester. No wonder I wasn't seeing results when I was killing myself in the gym.

I've also changed my workouts up again and I'm loving it. Minus the fact that I'm sore all over every day. And couldn't hardly walk on Saturday and Sunday. 


I'm finally seeing some form of results, so I'll definitely be contenting these eating habits, just not feeling guilty when I go out for a night with friends that includes cheese dip and beer. 

That's real life. There shouldn't be any guilt or shame in that. 


So here's the final results!

What I missed most: All of the terrible foods I normally eat. Primarily Mexican food and being able to enjoy the chips with it. I've been having to eat burrito bowls and say no to chips. And while I'm sure that's what I really should be doing, the chips are the best part. Let's all be honest. Ugh. I love carbs, okay?! I'm done.

Biggest thing I learned: I've said this before and I've said it again- it really is all about what you eat. I've spent the past year and a half busting it in the gym on a regular basis without seeing any results. And I kept getting angry and wondering why. It's because I suck at eating right. I love all of the bad food and rarely felt the need to eat veggies. So that has changed immensely and is here to stay!

I wish I'd known this existed! Would have made it so much easier to keep up with. I got tired of carrying around my little booklet all the time.


Hardest part: Not hating myself. This sounds crazy. But I would eat something and then immediately regret it and hate myself for breaking my diet. As much as I wanted to stick with this strict diet for 24 days, I knew it wasn't possible. I said it in a previous post, but the quickest, easiest way to see results is to do what works for you, not everybody else. I know I need cheese and carbs and sweets. The key is finding ways to enjoy those things without hating myself afterwards-- moderation.


Easiest part: Still thanking God for my workout habits. Without that, I wouldn't be seeing the results I am. Joining Team Strength (essentially CrossFit) at my gym definitely gave me the spark I needed here at the end. I've got a whole year of that ahead of me and I'm pumped! I've got some amazing trainers that motivate me, which I've discovered is a necessity for me.

My biggest take-away from this experience: This really isn't a "what you put in is what you get out" type of thing. The results you see are really going to be based on how big of a lifestyle change this is for you. If you normally eat terribly and never workout and start doing both of those things and doing the cleanse, you are obviously going to see much different results than I did. If you already eat right and workout, you probably won't see too much change. I saw moderate change because I cut back on my terrible food intake and changed up my workouts all at once. It's just like The Biggest Loser. Those people don't workout and eat right then they suddenly do and lose 20 pounds in a week. It's all about the degree of change here. 

Inches lost: 14 in

Weight lost: 5 lbs

I really had no expectations for this and I'm quite content with what I've gotten out of it. I didn't lose a ton of weight, but I lost some solid inches. And I see results, which is the key. I'm not a scale person. The scale doesn't reflect fat loss or the way your clothes fit. And that's what we should be looking for. 

If you guys are looking at trying the 24-Day Challenge or anything like it and want some personal advice, let me know! I'm more than willing to give you some real, honesty advice on things!

Currently Swooning: Lilly #HorrayForSpring Arrivals

Lilly's spring and summer collections are always show stoppers. And this spring is no exception. I'm loving almost everything, and wanting all of it in my closet. ASAP.

The prints are actually perfection. Lots of pink and navy. I could die.






(I bought a patterned pair of these on sale... And now I need them in every color. They are a necessity for every girl needing something "business casual.")

Snowpocalypse 2014

Sweet Jesus. Today.

It snowed.

A lot... 
For Georgia at least.

Atlanta and my hometown were both completely covered in snow and ice and things got pretty dangerous. Thankfully everyone I know got home safely. Even if that meant leaving cars and attempting to walk home... Like my mom had to do.

My mom sent me some panicked texts around 2 o'clock begging me to leave work before anything really hit us here in Athens. She also included this terrifying photo of the road she was on after one of her colleagues picked up on the side of the road... LOL.


Just a glimpse of what the roads looked like in Atlanta this afternoon:

Chaos. Utter chaos. 

I'm just really glad I didn't have to experience that. I had some fun snow at the golf course! It was absolutely beautiful.


I haven't ventured out into the Athens slush, and I don't really plan on it. 

Today I'm just happy that everyone I know is safe and I'm super grateful for being able to spend my time on a golf course this beautiful all semester long.

Oh, You Healthy, Huh?

Alright. This is going to be a rant session. But I had to share this. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

During my attempt to find some recipes and ideas during my Advocare 24-Day Challenge, I ended up stumbling up people's blogs and Pinterest boards that freaked me out a little bit.

I get the concept of eating right, and clean, and healthy. I really do. You get the nutrients you need and avoid the fat, and blah, blah, blah.

But some people need to live a little. I don't get it. 

Do you seriously go through life only eating things that come out of the ground, off a tree, or from an all-natural-fed animal on an organic farm? Where do you people live that you can find this stuff everywhere?? And how much money do you have that you can afford this pickiness? 

Like, give it a break...

Eat a brownie. Or some cheese dip. Drink a margarita. Or, gasp, a beer.

You people stress me out. There's no way you can actually have friends. Unless your friends are also this crazy. What do you people do? Sit around and talk about how great your salad was that day?


I just can't.

And it's also these people who workout like a bunch of maniacs. As do I. But my whole world doesn't revolve around it. I think these people may spend hours a day in a gym. With their friends talking about how much they love their locally-grown organic mangos they bought at the farmer's market yesterday.

And if they aren't crazy gym people, they are the yoga and elliptical moms. You know who I'm talking about.

Oh, and they feel the need to tell everyone about every healthy meal they make. Look at my all-organic, quinoa chicken chili with ZERO fat. We get it. It's healthy. Bye.

Moral of the story here: EAT LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE, Y'ALL.

You aren't going to die because you had some fat. Or non-organic cheese. Or whatever.

Live a little. You'll have more friends. I promise.

End rant.

Am I the only person who has some issues with these people? Or am I just a little too wound up about all this? Or can someone help me understand this?

In standard Award Show Caley fashion, I'm here to tell you the good, the bad, the ugly, and the confusing that occurred tonight at The Grammys.

I'm just as confused as you are...

The absolute best of the night in my opinion. What beats Stevie? That's right, nothing.

Beyonce opened the show in typical B fashion... 
Does it get any sexier than that??

And then Jay-Z appeared... And made it even more perfect. 

Pharrell's hat stole the show, though.

I've got nothing to add here... 

Bruno won!! And I'm obsessed with him. Unorthodox Jukebox, y'all. Get it.
Hint, he's one of the topics of my Fan Friday post for this week. Because Super Bowl. And Bruno. Match made in heaven.

Sephora, I Love You

If you were to log into my Sephora online account, you would judge me so hard. I just know it. Currently I've got 687 VIB points. Because I blow all of the money there. 

I love beauty products. What can I say?

And because of this, I've stumbled upon some of the greatest products. I will preach this until the day I die: when it comes to make up and beauty products, you get what you pay for. So I'm willing to splurge on brand name makeup. Your face is the first thing people see, after all. 

Here's my round-up of the best products I've tried lately.

BB Cream 
I used one tube of this stuff for 8 months. Totally worth it.


Face Pallet
Still on my first one of these... A solid 8 months of every day use.

Bronzer

Highlighter

Night Cream
A little goes a long way and makes your skin nice and perky!

Face Mask
Obviously not something you use every day, so it lasts fivever.

Everyday Face Lotion
I just got this stuff, and I'm already in love. The best part? It smells like fruit loops. No lie.

Chapstick
I've never paid full price for this stuff, but absolutely love it. It feels amazing on your lips. *Puts it on.*

Liquid Liner
I don't always use liquid liner, and when I do, I'm not trying to use the real stuff. Hand me this pencil thing? I'm good. 

Lipstick
I'm determined to try a statement lip more often. So I got this in Anarchy- a bright, bright pink.
